Collection: The Images of Budapest Collection

A series of seven black and white photographs of Budapest taken in 2015. They represent, for me, the feel of Budapest, a beautiful and fascinating city.

These were taken on a 2009 three megapixel phone (HTC Magic) - it was all I had. Given that the technology was young, they're soft and contain small aberrations and distortions. Sometimes there's an almost painterly feel to them.

This, in my opinion, mimics the early days of emulsion film based photography, where for example photographs from the 1920s are also soft and contain distortions. Depending on your point of view, this will either add to or detract from the appeal of the picture. Personally I like it. Film photography to digital manipulation is all one path and the flaws in this image represent one step on that path.
