Shipping and taxes
Taxes
Prints are produced in either the EU, the UK, the US, Canada or Australia. This is so that orders from these destinations will NOT have to pay import or customs duties (any inter-state taxes in the US are down to the customer though). Please note that prints for New Zealand are produced in Australia so duties may apply to deliveries there.
I am not yet VAT registered so there is none to see on your invoices. So displayed prices include all taxes.
Shipping
Your picture(s) wil be shipped to you primarily by courier in secure, strong packaging. Please allow ten days for your custom print to be produced as well as shipping, although 6 to 7 days is more typical, depending on where you are.
Shipping costs
I subsidise shipping for all orders apart from those in the UK where, for some reason, shipping costs are much cheaper.
If you order more than one print at a time (2 or more in the same order), shipping costs for the additional prints are reduced.
Pricing policy
Discounts
I'm an online consumer too. I too am plagued by Facebook ads and promo emails offering 50% discounts. I'm rarely fooled. If they're able to offer a 50% discount and still make a profit, what does that say for their usual profit markup?
I do not ask inflated prices that I can then offer huge 'discounts' against. I ask a fair price to begin with, that gives me a reasonable two figure percentage markup on costs. And that's it. I will not be offering silly discount seasons. The only exception I suppose might be occasional sales where I offer 10 or 15% because it's Christmas or whatever. But understand that my pricing policy is simple.. it's to make a reasonable and decent living without lying to you or trying to mislead you.
And this includes time pressure limited offers. You're a grown up, Make you own mind up in your own time.
Returns
Damaged upon receipt
When the picture is delivered to you, please take a moment to examine the packaging for signs of significant damage. The packaging is robust and can sustain typical knocks but anything big that could have damaged the content should be taken up with the courier at that point (of delivery).
Carefully unpack the picture in case you need the packaging.
If the picture has been damaged in transit, send me good photographic evidence of the damage. This should include:
- Clear photographs of both the external packaging and the internal packaging.
- Clear photos of the damage to the picture.
- Photos of the whole picture to place the damage in context.
- Clear photo of the shipping label and any barcodes.
This will be assessed and if it's considered appropriate, a replacement item will be shipped. There is no guarantee of a replacement however, and a refund will not be considered. It may be required that
you return the item before a replacement can be sent.
You change your mind
Apart from breaking my heart if you really don't like the picture :-), you have 14 days in which to return it. However there are issues with returning it that you need to be aware of:
- Prints would have to be returned to me here in the Republic of Cyprus. And a courier would have to be used to minimise the risk of loss or damage. This is crucial.
Courier costs to and from Cyprus are very high, possibly exceeding the price of the print, especially if you are far away in somewhere like the US, although it may be OK from the EU. - I may have to pay import duties if you are returning the print from outside the EU. Prints are created in the US, the UK, the EU, Canada or Australia depending on where you live, to avoid you paying import duties. So I would be importing my own print. I will share this cost with you by deducting half of the cost of any duties from any refund.
- Prints are created to order according to your specification. This that means the EU 14 day cooling off regulations don't apply here. However, if you have investigated the courier costs and are ok with them, and still want to return the print within 14 days of receiving it, email me to discuss this. I will not refund unless a courier (such as DHL or UPS) is used, you contact me within 14 days of receipt, or the picture is damaged in any way when I recieve it.
So if you change your mind, can return it by courier undamaged within 14 days and are ok with the shipping costs to Cyprus, email me or message me through my website.
I've not had anyone change their mind so far by the way.
